Good eats are plentiful in DFW, where many different types of cuisines converge to create an undeniably satisfying culinary experience. Take a look at any neighborhood across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and you’ll come across many beloved standbys and new restaurants just waiting to be experienced. Here are a few recently opened eateries we think you should sample this month!
Swizzle
1802 Greenville Avenue #110
Dallas, Texas 75206
You may not be able to hop on a flight to an exotic island right now, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a little taste of the tropics, right here in DFW! Swizzle is a recently opened restaurant in Dallas’ Swiss Avenue neighborhood that offers everything you’d expect in a Tiki bar and restaurant, including fruity cocktails and Kalua pork and chicken plates. Plus, they offer delivery via GrubHub.
Encina
614 West Davis Street
Dallas, Texas 75208
If you’re still mourning the closing of Bolsa, one of Dallas’ premier farm-to-table restaurants, don’t worry: Chef Matt Balke is up to his old tricks with the new Encina restaurant, where he is in charge of a new menu of fresh, always-in-season meals. Here, you’ll enjoy upscale dishes like lamb and pork bratwurst and New York strip steak served with mascarpone grits.
Tinies
113 South Main Street
Fort Worth, Texas 76104
A true pandemic success story, Tinies opened early in 2020 only to shutter due to coronavirus concerns. Luckily, the upscale Mexican restaurant is back open now, with a slimmer menu that still showcases the best flavors to come out of this South Main Village spot. Try their empanadas, guacamole flight (with three different types of guac), and achiote roasted pork. Eat-in or order takeout with DoorDash.
